Well, like it was in January, it is going to take me a few days to get back to my dawn to dusk schedule and back into the flow of things photographically. Despite that, I still had a good day photographing around the campground this evening. My target bird for this area is the Slender-billed Thornbill as well as possibly the Purple-gaped Honeyeater. I did a bit of scouting this morning but no photography. In fact, Ididn't have much locating the birds I was after.
Not to worry as there are plenty of birds back around the campground. Probably the highlight of the evening was finally getting a frame of a White-winged Chough. This fairly common bird of arid country is so far eluded me photographically. I see them all the time but have not been able to get a good photo. Today's isn't going to win any awards but it at least shows the bird in its normal haunts, the ground. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to track down my thornbill and possibly the honeyeater.
