This morning was one of those mornings when everything went wrong and I took it as a signal to just take it easy. My original plan was to spend the early morning looking for the Rufous Scrub-bird again and then do a hike through the rainforest and try to photograph the landscape. I was barely 500 meters down the trail when I heard a dull thud behind me. Iturned around only to find that the tripod leg that had been loose had finally fallen off and was laying on the ground. That, combined with a set of dead batteries and impending rain, convinced me I needed a break.
I have been on the road and going pretty hard for the past three months basically birding and photographing every single day. I think it is time for a bit of relaxing and reading and taking a break from the daily routine. Yesterday, I had really enjoyed the reading so I spent the day doing the same. We will see what how I feel about things tomorrow.
